Finding The Right Go Kart Frame

If you are building a home made go cart you will need a go kart frame,a go kart frame is the foundation of your go kart, everything else isbuilt around them.
There are 2 types of go cart frames to choose from, unwelded frameseither purchased or home made, or purchased welded go cart frames.
If you have a mig welder or access to one then you can make your own go kart frame or buy one to weld yourself.

As most people do not have a mig welder or access to one i suggest youbuy an already welded go kart frame kit and start your project from that.
It will give you just as much satisfaction using a go kart frame kit orbuying cheap go kart frames and will save you time.

Welded go cart frames can be found quite cheaply if you shop aroundon the net, the best go-kart frames we found were at northern tool.

They are perfect for a fun cart project the frame issimple and includes the steering hoop, a difficult thing to makeyourself and something we did not find on any of the other go kartframes for sale on the internet.

Offroad go kart frames are different from thier fun cart counterparts,if you are building an off road go cart frame then you will need a solidframe with a roll cage already added, off road go carts will costyou nearly double to build than fun carts.

Durable Go-Kart Frame with Steering Hoop

We have sourced the best value frames and go kart frames kit on the internet, remember that purchasing from your local dealer will costyou double and they probably won't have all the of the go cart partsyou need to complete the cart.
double-tube frame is jig-welded and has strong 1in. x .083? wall tubing. 48in.L x 26in.W x 5 1/2in.H overall. Complete with steering hoop, engine mounting plate, spindle brackets, steering shaft bushing, pedal bushings, live-axle bearing hangers and control rod anchors.

Our suppliers also have all of the parts and components to completethis go-cart, it pays to order what you need all at once and save onshipping for go kart frames.

These go cart frames are also very useful if you are using your ownparts and engine, the go kart frames act as a great foundation on which to build your own custom go-carts.

If you are looking for free or very cheap used go kart parts i suggestyou go down to your local go kart tracks and ask around, oftenthey have busted go carts and go kart frames and parts that theywould gladly give away or sell cheap.

Hints On Welding Your Go Kart Frames

If you are buying a go kart frame kit then remember you will need a migwelder or access to one.
Before you start welding you need to prepare your work area, you will need a welding table, or a flat work bench at least 1 meter width and 2 meters in length, if you do not have a workbench then a level concretefloor will do, just make sure all work areas have at least 1 meter ofspace on all sides.

Before you lay out the go cart frame, take the front axle andmeasure it to find the center, mark the center with a marker pen.
Now layout the go cart frame components on your workbench in the orderthat you will weld them in.
NBEnsure each component of the go cart kit is in the right placeand is properly aligned.

You are now ready to begin tack welding your go cart frame kittogether, ensure you have a good go kart frame plan.
You should start tack welding go kart frames from the front axle and thenwork your way back to the first crossbar and then the second crossbarand then finally to the rear bumper.
Make sure your tack weld joints are strong enough to hold when the frame is moved about.

After you have tack welded the principle frame components togethercheck the frame to ensure it is properly aligned and square, if you have followed your go kart frame plan then this should be fine.
Now for the main welding, you will need to clamp the go cart framedown to the table surface at the ends of the front axle and at theends of the rear bumper, this keeps the frame from warping, using your go kart frames designs just follow the simple direction.
